Jan Przyrowski is ready to race during the penultimate, seventh round of the Formula Regional European Championship (FREC), which will take place on September 3-6 at the Italian Autodromo di Imola Enzo e Dino Ferrari. For the 18-year-old protégé of the ORLEN Motorsport Academy, it will be the first time at this legendary facility.

Italy for the second time this season

Back in June, the FREC series and Jan Przyrowski visited the Italian Peninsula for the fourth round, held at the Temple of Speed, the Monza circuit. This time, the driver from Rossoszyca and his rivals are returning to Italy, but to the Imola circuit. The organizer of the Italian Grand Prix, San Marino Grand Prix, and Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix is ​​known for hosting Formula 1. Although the 2026 season has not yet seen a race there, there is a chance a race will take place at the end of the year in lieu of the Qatar Grand Prix and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which were likely canceled due to the conflict in the Middle East.

The Italian circuit measures 4.933 km and has 19 corners, with traffic running clockwise. The Polish driver’s last visit to Italy brought a frantic chase in Saturday’s races: first from 26th to 7th place, and then from the same position to 11th. On the second day at Monza, we witnessed a battle for pole position and a podium finish in the third race. This will be the second home race for the RPM team, and if they can improve on recent rounds and match their performance from June, they have a chance for a very good result.

The FREC series returns after a break of approximately 1.5 months. Jan Przyrowski and his rivals last competed on July 17-19 in France at the Paul Ricard circuit. The goal is simple: to fight for as many points as possible and achieve the highest possible position in the overall standings at the end of the 2026 season.

Jan Przyrowski takes a “cool” approach to the competition

“On Thursday, during the test sessions, I’ll have the opportunity to drive at the Imola track for the first time in my life. I haven’t had the opportunity before, because in Spanish Formula 4, we only traveled to France and Portugal, and my first time in single-seaters in Italy was last year during my FRECA debut at Monza. Considering that, between that and this year’s appearances at the Temple of Speed, the pace in Italy was mostly there, and sometimes we lacked luck for a podium, it would be great to at least revisit that now. Nevertheless, considering how volatile this season is, how many surprises there are, and how difficult it is to predict where we’ll end up in the grid, I prefer a pleasant surprise,” said Jan Przyrowski before the Imola round.

“We’re still fighting to finish the season on a strong note. There’s still a good chance to improve in the general classification, and we have to fight until the very end. Let’s hope we nail the setup and surprise positively by fighting at the front. We need solid points.
