First race weekend of the 2024 season with Campos Racing. Although the round was not perfect, Jan Przyrowski showed his potential by taking rookie pole position on Sunday.
After long days of testing, it was time to race at the Circuit de Ricardo Tormo. The first qualifying was peculiar. Jan Przyrowski set a good time, but race direction cancelled all the grid times due to track limits, taking the practice results to make up the grid for the first race.
Sunday was the highlight of the weekend, as Jan Przyrowski scored his first success of the season. A great qualifying lap allowed him to finish fourth on the grid and take the rookie pole position.
In addition, he was more competitive and comfortable with the car as the team managed to solve some problems that had arisen on Saturday.
This good feeling was maintained in the races, where he proved to be competitive, lapping in the top 10. However, a contact with a rival and all the safety cars that followed prevented Jan Przyrowski from making further progress.
In all three races of the weekend, he finished in the top 15. Although the results were not what we expected, it was a good first weekend, with a good feeling reflected in the pole position in qualifying on Sunday.
Now it’s time to analyse all the data, review the information from this weekend in Valencia and prepare us to get stronger for the next round.
Jan Przyrowski: “We had higher expectations coming into this weekend. The debut in Formula 4 could have been better so, the weekend might be rated as “not good”. But the team did a great work and for Barcelona we will look for redemption.”
