The ORLEN Motorsport Academy protégé will compete for the first time in his career at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit on 29th-31st May. Jan Przyrowski has two successful test sessions behind him and is hoping to open up his points tally in the Formula Regional European Championship.
Round Three of the Season a Chance to Break Through
The Rossoszyca-based driver didn’t have an easy start to the 2026 European campaign, as the rounds at the Red Bull Ring and Zandvoort didn’t go his way, nor did the RPM team. Everyone is hungry for results and consistent points. After a successful debut in the Formula Regional Middle East Trophy, where the Irish-Italian team finished 5th overall and Jan Przyrowski finished sixth overall (tied on points with his rival ahead of him) and third in the rookie standings, everyone was hoping for progress in Europe. The races in Austria and the Netherlands didn’t show their true potential. Now everyone is doing everything they can to ensure things start falling into place from the round at Spa-Francorchamps.
Jan Przyrowski is devoting every moment to helping people understand the Tatuus T-326 and discover more pace. The 17-year-old wants to achieve his goals this year, which is why a quick return to the top is so important. Test sessions on Thursday brought improvements. The Pole finished in the top eight twice, and this is his best start to date, even taking into account training and testing at FRMET.
Spa-Francorchamps – a diverse and challenging track for drivers
Located in the Belgian town of Tavelot, the circuit is 7.004 km long and has 19 corners. The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps has hosted Formula 1 Grand Prix events almost continuously since 1950. In the 21st century, only 2003 and 2006 saw a race not held at this venue. The track itself is known for hosting races in various series, including those outside of single-seater series, such as the GT, 24 Hours of Spa, and the FIA WEC. Until now, the new Tatuus T-326s have not raced on a similar track in terms of characteristics, which presents an additional challenge for the FREC teams and drivers.
Jan Przyrowski is in a fighting mood ahead of the next round
“The rounds in Austria and the Netherlands didn’t go as I or the entire team expected. Each time, we struggled with something different. We looked for different solutions, and today we understand much more, which I hope will help us in Belgium. I’ve never raced at Spa-Francorchamps before, and I’m looking forward to driving at full speed in qualifying and the races. Hopefully, this will be a weekend where we score good points and make more progress,” said Jan Przyrowski before the FREC round at Zandvoort.
“Thursday’s Collective Test is behind me, during which I got to know the track and finished eighth twice. It’s a good start, and we intend to continue working hard with RPM to improve our pace. I’ll definitely keep you updated on how I’m doing, and of course, I encourage you to follow the competition at Spa from the very beginning of the weekend. I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank my partners for their support: ORLEN, the ORLEN Motorsport Academy, PZM, Geothermal Solutions, the Łódź Economic Zone, Samarite, ENEXA, WTC System, and Ansite!” added the RPM team driver.\
