Jan Przyrowski won on the Algarve track in Portimao during the second round of the E4 Spanish Winter Championship. The Polish driver confirmed his great form from Jerez, but this time his racing weekend looked completely different and we could observe a real rollercoaster. The protégé of the Academy Motorsport ORLEN put in a performance that will be talked about for a long time in the motorsport world.

Great pace all weekend

On Friday, the 16-year-old from Rossoszyca placed in the lead on the Portuguese Algarve track. Two practice sessions ending in 2nd place promised great excitement. Then in the Saturday time trial Jan Przyrowski confirmed his very good form and secured a start from the front row. He had only one rival ahead of him and it looked like it was going to be an exciting duel. Unfortunately for the Pole, one of the rivals – Nathan Tye – eliminated him from the race on the 5th lap. It seemed that the limit of bad luck had been used up, but in the sprint shortly after the start the same driver hit the car of the Griffin Core by Campos driver again.

Jan Przyrowski fell to the end of the field, to 31st position to be precise. It seemed that it would be difficult to save Saturday. In the meantime, the protégé of the Academy Motorsport ORLEN began a mad chase and reached 10th position in just 13 minutes. He was less than 30 thousandths of a second away from the Top 9 points at the time. A few hours later it turned out that the judges had 3 rivals under the microscope and gave them time penalties. In this way, Przyrowski advanced to 7th position and won 4 valuable points. He also showed that it is never worth giving up.

It was Sunday’s turn. Once again, the driver from Rossoszyca almost got pole position, which he was only 0.078 seconds away from. This meant starting from 3rd place. Jan Przyrowski intended to attack and jumped to 2nd place right from the start. Later, the Pole kept putting pressure on Thomas Strauven the whole time. About 3 minutes before the end of the competition, he managed to overtake him and take the victory to the finish line.

Brave Jan Przyrowski focused on the next goal

The protégé of the Academy Motorsport ORLEN was happy after the victory, but he also felt sports anger after Saturday. The weekend in Portimao could have gone much better, but motorsport has often shown that sometimes you have to go through a real test. And Jan Przyrowski passed it with more than six plus! The interested party himself shared his impressions and expectations before the next round of the E4 Spanish Winter Championship.

I entered the E4 SWC round in Portimao as the leader and I felt a lot of excitement because of that. The track itself was not my favorite either, and I knew that my rivals would be very fast. When I was very fast from Friday, my self-confidence increased even more. I believed that I could win in every race – said Jan Przyrowski.

Unfortunately, Saturday wrote a different scenario for me, because twice my rival excluded me from the fight for at least the podium. However, I intended to fight to get back into the game. In the sprint, I returned from a long journey, because from P31 to P10. I had a great time and I was sorry for the initial lack of points, but then 3 rivals dropped behind me and I advanced to P7. This proved to me that it was worth believing that returning to the points zone is possible – added the 16-year-old.

On Sunday, I approached the competition calmly. I felt sporting anger after Saturday, but I wanted to transform it into something positive. After qualifying and P3, I was dissatisfied, but it energized me for the race, which I managed to win. I felt mega proud and now I believe that in the next round I will fight for the winter F4 championship – concluded the protégé of the Academy Motorsport ORLEN.
