The ORLEN Motorsport Academy protégé is set for the fifth round of the Formula Regional European Championship (FREC), which will take place at the Hungarian Hungaroring circuit, famous for its Formula 1 roots. For the first time in his career, Jan Przyrowski will face the track considered home by Polish motorsport fans and is looking forward to the challenge. The RPM driver has recently demonstrated competitive performances, which further fuels expectations for strong results.
Spa-Francorchamps and Monza marked by a battle for the top. Hungaroring another step forward
Jan Przyrowski twice entered the fight for pole position. Once, he was second in his group in the second qualifying session in Belgium, and then a similar situation in Italy, where he finished third. He started from 4th and 5th on the grid and was in the fight for the podium. In one race, he started from 26th position and finished 7th, setting the fastest lap. A bit of luck was often lacking at the beginning of the rounds, something the RPM team also learned valuable lessons from. The Hungaroring will be a completely different track. Its length is 4.381 km and consists of 14 corners. Here, drivers have little time to rest, and there are significantly fewer opportunities for overtaking. This is why qualifying will be even more important.
After four rounds of the FREC, knowledge of the new Tatuus T-326 is greater, which should help. The 17-year-old Polish driver is hungry to fight among the very top and accumulate the significant points necessary for a top position in the overall standings at the end of the season.
The solid qualifying and race pace demonstrated in the latter parts of the last rounds demonstrates enormous potential. Finding the right set-up from Thursday’s test sessions will be crucial. Confidence is key on such a technical, high-downforce Hungaroring. The sooner you discover your limits, the more you can push the limits depending on the conditions, which will be extremely demanding due to the heat and strong winds forecast for the coming days.
Jan Przyrowski is hoping to fight for the top from the start
“During the last two rounds at Spa and Monza, I’ve scored the most points so far. The podium wasn’t far off. I’d like to start the race weekend with a good position in the first qualifying session to give myself a chance for good results in each race. Together with the RPM team, we’re working hard to stay in the game and fight for the top spots. The second half of the season could be even better, and I’m counting on that,” said Jan Przyrowski before the round at the Hungaroring.
“I hope you’ll support me and together we’ll celebrate the highest possible positions. For my part, I’m doing my best. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my partners: ORLEN, the ORLEN Motorsport Academy, PZM and Geothermal Solutions, the Łódź Special Economic Zone, Repiński Transport, Samarite, ENEXA, WTC System, Dopingujemy, Stilo, and Ansite!” added the Polish driver.
