Jan Przyrowski will conclude the winter portion of the 2026 season from 11th to 13th February. Polish driver will strive for the best possible results in the final, fourth round of the Formula Regional Middle East Trophy (FRMET), which will take place at the Lusail circuit in Qatar. The ORLEN Motorsport Academy protégé has achieved podium finishes in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, giving him a chance to fight for a high position in the final general classification.
Hunger for victory and excitement for the upcoming challenge
The 17-year-old from Rossoszyca didn’t have an easy start to the 2026 season. Unfortunately, during the first round at the Yas Marina Circuit, car number 8 experienced engine problems, hindering his fight for points. Fortunately, things improved from the second round at the Yas Marina Corkscrew, but then unlucky qualifying and chaos with yellow and red flags during Jan’s fastest laps prevented him from achieving competitive times. Despite this, good race pace allowed him to push forward, even securing a front row spot for the second race. Then, in changing conditions, Jan Przyrowski fought a fierce battle with Alex Ninovic for the win, ultimately finishing second.
After moving to the Dubai Autodrome, he managed to establish a better rhythm from the start and improved his qualifying. He finished 11th in Q1 and 9th in Q2. In the first race, Jan scored a point after moving up to 10th place and securing third place on the grid for the second event. He then maintained his top three position and put pressure on second-placed Alex Ninovic. The race pace looked very good, which gave a positive outlook for the third race. It was then that Jan’s excellent form was confirmed, gaining one position before the start of the race and starting from 8th on the grid, ultimately moving up to 4th place. He narrowly missed out on his third podium finish in the series. At the same time, his work so far, along with RPM and the increased competitiveness from session to session, allow him to look forward to the round at Lusail International Circuit even more positively.
In Qatar, acclimatizing quickly to the conditions and finding a good rhythm will be crucial. It’s a very twisty track, but quite flowing and a lot of fun for F1 and MotoGP drivers. The Lusail circuit consists of 16 corners and measures 5.419 km. For most of the riders, it will be their first time at this track.
This weekend’s supporting series will be the UAE4 Series and the Toyota Gazoo Racing GR Yaris Cup Qatar.
Jan Przyrowski promises exciting races
Currently, the ORLEN Motorsport Academy protégé is 8th in the standings with 46 points. He’s only 3 points behind the top six, and 22 points behind 4th place. Mathematically, Jan Przyrowski also has a chance to finish runner-up in the series, but the gap is much greater. There are 75 points left to win, and a lot can still happen.
“I’m facing the fourth and final part of the season in the Middle East. I still want to use the next few days to fully understand the car with the RPM team. At the same time, after the Dubai round, I’m hoping for an even better qualifying performance than there and to fight for the top spots from the first race. A lot can still happen, and the gaps in the field are small. I’ve already been there twice and three times, and I’d definitely be happy with that top spot. My team and I are also fighting for a good position in the standings, and if everything goes well, we’ll be satisfied and even more motivated ahead of the European leg of the FREC,” emphasized Jan Przyrowski before the FRMET round in Qatar.
“The competition at Lusail fell, rather unusually, on Wednesday-Friday. I hope you’ll be able to check in on my progress when you have a moment and cheer me on from work or school. I encourage you to do so, and of course, you’ll find all the information on my social media. I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank my partners for their support: ORLEN, the ORLEN Motorsport Academy, PZM and Geothermal Solutions, the Łódź Economic Zone, Samarite, ENEXA, Elektro-miz, and Ansite. Thank you for everything!” concluded the RPM team driver.
