The driver from Rossoszyca made his debut in the higher motorsport category of FRECA (Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine). Between 23 rd and 26th October, Jan Przyrowski, driving for RPM team, demonstrated his potential at the legendary Monza track. The protégé of the ORLEN Motorsport Academy and Prosperity Investment Management, finished the final race in 5th place and was awarded the podium spot as the best rookie.

A Show of Determination and Speed

The weather in Italy was not kind to the drivers and team members, due to heavy rainfall. A 4-hour test session was held on Thursday to help them better understand the track and the Tatuus T-318’s design. This task was significantly more difficult, with frequent red flag interruptions during testing. Overall, Przyrowski managed to complete 20 laps and sit in the top eight for most of the session. Ultimately, the RPM driver finished 12th. This only whetted the appetite for more, and Jan Przyrowski, along with his engineers and mechanics, analyzed all areas for improvement.

Already on Friday, it was clear that the Race Performance Motorsport driver was feeling increasingly comfortable in the car. However, the first session again resulted in time losses due to rain and red flags. The second session, which was dry, reflected the weather forecast for Saturday and Sunday, fared much better. The 17-year-old finished ninth at the end of the day. Saturday arrived, and the drivers took to the damp track at a mere 7 degrees Celsius. In the 13-driver Group B, the ORLEN Motorsport Academy protégé finished fifth, then moved up after a rival broke track limits. Overall, this gave him an 8th starting position for the first race. During the first session, several unfortunate incidents dropped him to 16th place, but he quickly returned to 9th. Przyrowski was expected to fight for higher positions, but unfortunately, problems at the very end caused him to drop to 12th place. Despite this, Jan finished second among the rookies.

Amazing Driving at Monza

Sunday brought even more excitement. Working together helped improve performance, which, combined with Jan Przyrowski’s excellent form behind the wheel, resulted in 3rd place in Group B. Ultimately, the Polish driver lined up in 5th place on the grid. After the start, the 17-year-old from Rossoszyca not only maintained his high position but also put pressure on his rivals ahead of him. The battle for fourth place brought intense excitement and drama. Initially, only Jan and Nikita Bedrin were fighting for it. However, Taito Kato joined them. The Japanese managed to separate them, but neither was willing to give up the lead. This led to Kato and Bedrin making contact in the second chicane, ultimately resulting in the latter’s retirement. In this chaos, Przyrowski had to avoid the Italian and maintain a gap to the Japanese driver, which he did. A late safety ban ended any chance of a potential advancement, and the race ended behind the safety car. Everyone was impressed by the performance of the driver, supported by Prosperity Investment Management. Among the rookies, the driver from Rossoszyce was the best in the entire field, meaning a podium finish and a trophy for this distinction.

Had Jan Przyrowski not been entered as a guest driver, he would have received 10 points in the overall FRECA series standings, officially placing him runner-up among rookies, after only one appearance. The Pole would have lost in the latter classification only to Dion Gowda, who had completed the entire season. This further demonstrates that the ORLEN Motorsport Academy protégé seizes every opportunity and is able to quickly adapt to situations, proving his readiness for ever greater challenges.

Jan Przyrowski after a great debut in the FRECA series

“Contrary to appearances, this was a very demanding debut weekend for me in the FRECA series at Monza. I had never driven in the Temple of Speed before. It was difficult because we didn’t have much testing before qualifying and the races. It rained most of the time, and we only drove for less than 40 minutes in the dry. Switching from a Formula 4 car to the faster FRECA, which I had never driven before and on a new track for me, was a challenge. Together with the RPM team, we tried to take advantage of every learning opportunity and improved as much as we could. It turned out well, and I can be very happy with the result,” said Jan Przyrowski after his FRECA series debut at Monza.

“In the first race, I was close to finishing in the points, and in the second, I secured fifth place, a podium finish for the best rookie finish, and was able to maintain a very good pace and manage my tires well. I’m most pleased with the progress I’ve made and what I’ve learned. I’d like to thank the RPM team and the fans who kept their fingers crossed for me. I’m grateful to ORLEN and the Motorsport Academy, as well as Geothermal Solutions and Repiński Transport for their support,” emphasized the protégé of the ORLEN Motorsport Academy and Prosperity Investment Management.

This is not the end of the excitement in the 2025 season

After competing for the RPM team in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine series at Monza, Jan Przyrowski has another challenge ahead of him. The 17-year-old will be battling for a podium finish in the Spanish Formula 4 standings at the 2025 season finale at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit on 14-16th November. He trails Ean Eyckmans and Rene Lammers by 8 and 35 points, respectively. There are still 75 points up for grabs, with individual runner-up and the team championship for Griffin Core by Campos on the line. His excellent performance in the faster category provided valuable experience and shortened his break from racing, which is also very valuable in preparation for the finale.
