Polish driver Jan Przyrowski of Campos Racing came close to pole position on Sunday and, after an intense battle on track, fell just short of the podium.
In the first qualifying session of the weekend at Motorland, Jan Przyrowski was tenth. Starting from that position in the first race of the weekend, a contact in the first corner put him out of the race. In the second race of the weekend, held on Sunday, he managed to gain positions and finished sixth.
The weekend improved steadily. In the second qualifying session, he set the third-best time. Jan Przyrowski lacked a good slipstream for the long straight in the last sector, which cost him the pole position. Starting from third, he engaged in a tough battle on track, aiming for second place. After the safety car, his tires got dirty, and he lost some time. Once recovered, he fought to get back on the podium. However, he ended up in fourth place, just shy of the podium.
Jan Przyrowski: “We had the pace to get pole, but we missed a good slipstream. In the second race, I had a good rhythm thanks to the new tires. And in the third race, at the end, I got my tires into the dirty zone, and the car started sliding. Then the pace was very good, and I could recover. I want to thank Orlen for their support.”
