The 17-year-old from Rossoszyca is heading to the sixth round of the Formula Regional European Championship (FREC), which will take place July 17-19 at the Paul Ricard circuit in France. Jan Przyrowski has demonstrated his speed at this track during his time competing in Spanish Formula 4, as well as during pre-season testing in the current category. The RPM driver came close to finishing in the points in Hungary and is now looking to build on his results at Spa-Francorchamps and Monza before the summer break.

The round in France is a chance to fight at the top

Last year, Jan Przyrowski won 3 pole positions during one racing weekend – this is what happened at Circuit Paul Ricard. However, in 2024, the Polish driver had the fastest lap in the race. Before the start of the season, on March 31 this year, the protégé of the ORLEN Motorsport Academy and the RPM team showed their good performance here during the second round of FREC pre-season tests. At that time, the 17-year-old had the 4th time, and the differences among the leaders were very small.

The French track measures 5.842 km and has 15 turns, and traffic runs clockwise. Paul Ricard in Le Castellet hosted the Formula 1 Grand Prix not so long ago, in 2022. The upcoming weekend, July 17-19, promises interesting competition. The differences in pace are small, and at the Hungaroring 16 drivers were within 0.3 seconds. It is important to demonstrate competitive performance from the start. It’s best to start from Friday’s training sessions, so that we can fight with the leaders from the very beginning in Saturday’s morning qualifying.

The RPM team and our compatriot are hungry to fight for points. Less than two weeks ago, he was close, because in the second race the Pole was already eleventh. The ambitions of both sides are reaching higher, and the season is entering a key phase. Fourth place at Spa-Francorchamps or fifth place at Monza showed that when the Tatuus T-326 gets more out of its setup, the fight for the podium is within reach.

Jan Przyrowski hopes for much greater progress

“The FREC season is quite bumpy, more so than in the FRMET (Formula Regional Middle East Trophy). My goal is to get the most out of the car, and I always give it my all. I’m always looking for ways to do even better. I believe that together with RPM, we will find a setup that will help us fight for the front row and podiums. The differences are very small, and I feel we’re close to a solution. Spa and Monza provided such a positive boost, and the tests at Paul Ricard were successful, and I’d be happy if things were very fast from the first outing,” said Jan Przyrowski before the round at Paul Ricard.

“We’re fighting to make things better. I know we can do much more, and the second half of the European season can only be better. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my partners for their support: ORLEN, the ORLEN Motorsport Academy, PZM and Geothermal Solutions, the Łódź Economic Zone, Repiński Transport, Samarite, ENEXA, WTC System, Dopingujemy, Stilo, and Ansite!” added the 17-year-old from Rossoszyca.
