This coming weekend, 22nd-24th May, Jan Przyrowski will compete in the second round of the Formula Regional European Championship at the Zandvoort circuit. The ORLEN Motorsport Academy protégé will be competing at the Dutch track for the first time. The RPM driver is looking forward to the new challenges.

The Netherlands: A New Deal

The Polish driver faced a challenging season opener at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. There, motorsport revealed its second, least expected side. When every detail counts and everyone has limited preparation time, some will succeed, others won’t. Progress was evident during the first round of the FREC, as evidenced by the second qualifying round. Unfortunately, a technical issue affected the start of the final race, ending any chance of scoring points. Later, a serious accident occurred on the start straight – fortunately, Jan was unharmed. However, his car was significantly damaged and repair proved impossible, meaning he will drive a completely new car in the Netherlands.

Jan Przyrowski and the RPM team learned from their efforts in Austria. Everyone is motivated to return to the front of the pack at the Zandvoort round, just as they did in the Formula Regional Middle East Trophy and the FREC tests at Hockenheimring and Paul Ricard. The new Tatuus T-326 remains a challenge for every team and driver, and data and insights are valuable. The early days at FRMET were challenging, but progress was made quickly, so this process will also be crucial.

Zandvoort – a diverse and demanding track for drivers

The track is located in the western part of the Netherlands, near the North Sea coast. It measures 4.259 km and has 14 corners. Zandvoort is known for hosting the Dutch Grand Prix in F1. The pinnacle of motorsport races here almost continuously from 1952 to 1985, and then since 2021. The 2026 season will likely be the last for some time in which this track features on the F1 calendar. This will be a significant challenge for the ORLEN Motorsport Academy protégé and all Formula Regional European Championship drivers. Until now, the new Tatuus T-326s have not run on a track with similar characteristics and such large bank angles as those of the oval ones.

Jan Przyrowski motivated before the second round of FREC

“Before the round in the Netherlands, I was constantly working on my form. I trained on the simulator and tried to use my previous experience to understand the car as best as I could. The window of opportunity is very narrow. I know that hard work pays off. This was evident in our FRMET campaign and how we were getting faster with each round. Not everything worked out at the Red Bull Ring; that’s how racing is, and I’m focused on what’s ahead. We have the potential to fight at the front,” said Jan Przyrowski before the FREC round at Zandvoort.

“I’ll definitely keep you updated on how I’m doing, and of course, I encourage you to follow the competition at Zandvoort from the very beginning of the weekend. I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank my partners: ORLEN, the ORLEN Motorsport Academy, PZM, Geothermal Solutions, the Łódź Economic Zone, Samarite, ENEXA, Elektro-miz, and Ansite for their support!” added the RPM team driver.
